Organizations

The Rockwood Agricultural Society was organized soon after the municipality of Rockwood was formed. On June 21, 1880, an Order-in-Council authorized the society to hold meetings and draft by-laws. Over the years the society organized annual exhibitions and other shows as well as promoting the “good farm” competition, which led to the improvement of farmsteads.
