Organizations

The Great War Veterans’ Association was organized in Winnipeg in 1917 and claimed to have over 10,000 members. The membership was split in its support for the strike and three members were on the strike committee, although they were only observers. The national organization lobbied parliament for benefits to disabled veterans. In 1925 it became part of the Canadian Legion.
