Biography of Francis, Herbert Winfred Ross, 1891-1951

Herbert Winfield Ross Francis (1891-1951) was one of the three sons of Sarah Margaret Francis and Manitoba M.L.A. F.H. Francis. His great grandfather was Alexander Ross, a pioneer settler of Manitoba, and his grandfather was the Rev. John Black, the first Presbyterian minister in western Canada. During World War I, Herbert served overseas, where he was seriously wounded.
