Biography of Andrews, G. W. (George William), 1869-1943

Major G. W. Andrews (1869-1943) emigrated from England to Manitoba in 1890. In 1917 he was elected to the Union Parliament for Winnipeg Centre in 1917. He was in favour of conscription. During the General Strike, he defended the strikers, saying that they were fighting for the right to organize and for a living wage.
